The average solar installation in Australia is 9.5kw

Writer's picture: SC SolarSC Solar

When mainstream homeowners installed a solar system in 2012, the average size was 2.65kw. By 2014 this had increased to 4.47kw and now in 2022, the average-sized solar system on rooftop homes is 9.5kw.

Is going bigger better?

The reality is, not every household needs to go bigger than the standard 5-7kw or has the roof space. But for those who can and want to go bigger, then yes. Maximising the value you get from your solar system for self-consumption is optimal.

If you would like to know what size system is right for you, speak with our solar installer to help assess your energy needs, with no obligation.
