Electric Car Charging
A solar system on your roof not only saves you money on your electricity bill but can also charge your car.
If you are interested in owning an electric vehicle (EV) or already own one, then it's worthwhile looking into installing an EV charging port at your home. These provide a convenient way to fuel your electric car without the need to find a public charging station, which is currently rare on the Sunshine Coast.
Installing a solar system now with the added benefit of your solar inverter having an EV charger is the smarter way forward. SolarEdge already has a 'one-stop-shop' solution with its HD-Wave inverter-integrated EV charger system.
Queensland's Electric Super Highway
The Queensland Electric Super Highway is the world's longest electric super highway in a single state. It has 31 fast-charging sites, allowing Queenslanders and tourists to travel from Coolangatta to Cairns, and from Brisbane to Toowoomba in a low or zero emissions vehicle.
The fast chargers are installed in convenient, safe locations close to major highways where there are existing amenities, such as cafes, restaurants and shops. The sites were identified to allow motorists to easily charge their electric vehicle (EV) and enjoy a short break during their journey, allowing them to prepare for a safe onwards journey.
Phase 2 of the Queensland Electric Super Highway added 13 more fast-charging sites, due for completion before the end of 2020. The new fast-charging site locations include:
Ayr; Cardwell; Forest Glen; Gin Gin; Gunalda (Curra); Gympie; Innisfail; Ipswich; Mt Larcom; North Lakes; Port Douglas; Proserpine; Springwood
